We all know that the Australian government today is having restrictions on any kind of travel especially for travelers from any international flights due to the pandemic.
Many Indians that are students and traveling for business are affected by this. But to the Indians, this is a good opportunity to move to this country (Australia), get a permanent visa for residency. This is due to the newest program which is the Global Talent Independent (GTI) visa.
This opportunity is to attract people with awesome and great skills and talent from around the world for the benefit of the Australian government because this is a big help to the country for the recovery from the pandemic.
This program was launched as a pilot in November 2019 with about 5,000 places to offer. The government built this up in 2020-2021 and has a budget of around 15,000 spots as the new target. The government also demonstrated its commitment to this program by rearranging the global business and talent attraction task force in the second half of 2020 last year to gain an expensive business globally and a talent that is extraordinary to country Down Under to the support for the recovery of the country from the Covid-19 pandemic and for local jobs improvement.
For you to be accepted a visa into this program, any applicant should have to be highly skilled in any of the ten target sectors. These sectors should have agri-food and agrotech, energy, health industries, defense, advanced manufacturing and space, circular economy, Digitech, infrastructure and tourism, financial services, and fintech and education. Applicants should not be just highly skilled in these sectors but also should be able to attract a salary that meets the standard of the high-income threshold worth of A$153,600.
They also have to prove that they are internationally recognized with any evidence such as any achievements certificates, or outstanding professional achievements. It’s also available in terms of places for the Ph.D. students who are nearing completion of their thesis and can illustrate their extraordinary talents and international recognition.
Cherie Wright, special counsel in Sydney of global immigration law firm Fragomen said that the GTI program will surely benefit the best and most talented migrants from India because they are more flexible compared to the other Australian migration courses and programs.
GTI visa program is far way better than other immigration programs routes to Australia for Indians because it is not an employer or state-sponsored and has a high upper age limit of 55. It opens good opportunities to a lot of Indians.
Since there are no restrictions in Australia for Indian candidates who qualify for the GTI visa, even during the pandemic, is another attraction. It will be easier for Indian ex-pats to migrate or live in Australia with other visas from other countries just like the USA.
