Over the years, thousands of Indians have migrated to Australia for work, study, or even for permanent residency. With Australia’s weather, economic status, and strength in its security, no wonder the number of migrants increases every year. As a matter of fact, it is in 2020 that Indians have the highest number out of the 200,000 people who have become Australian Citizens this year, followed by British, Chinese, and Pakistanis.
Given such statistics, it is no doubt that Indians in Australia made names on their own in various professions and field of work. Specifically, in the field of business, Vivek Chaand Seghal, an Indian-born Australian Businessman, is named as the Richest among the Indians in Australia. Seghal, whose origin is from Delhi, India, soared high in the pedestal of auto parts and auto components sales. He is the chairperson and co-founder of Samvardhana Motherson Group, one of the world’s leading g auto parts manufacturer. The company, being family-owned, was said to be founded by Seghal together with his mother. As said, over the years, Seghal-led companies have established 11 other sister companies, all under his management. In fact, Seghal made it to Forbes in 2018 where he was labeled with net worth of US$6 billion. On 2017, upon his Australian citizenship grant, Seghal made it to the list of Australia’s Richest. Just this 2020, Seghal is the first and only Indian who made it to the list and is ranked 12th in this year’s list of Australia’s Richest Men.
Seghal, an established married man has 2 children and is now living his luxurious life in India while being with his family, he also enjoys managing his businesses with the rest of his family members. He believes that one should not stop soaring greater heights, as he aims to triple his sales in five years’ time. With his billionaire status, he seeks to further develop his companies by buying out distressed companies that ran out of money or got affected due to the pandemic. His positive attitude and result-driven style further hold his company’s name on the rank.
With the population of Indians in Australia rising over the years, it is safe to say that the Indian population in Australia is seen to have significant growth over the years. Despite certain issues on the security of Indian students as badly represented on the press, it is unquestionable that many Indians still push for life in Australia in search of a better way of living. Seghal, being one of them, certainly inspired many other struggling Indians, looking for a brighter and better future.
